Do you suffer from intestinal problems, such as constipation, diarrhea, intestinal gas, IBS etc. If so, you're going to learn in this article how to start bring your intestinal system back into balance. So that you can over come these common intestinal problems.

You'll learn about

  • The basic function of the intestinal system

  • Common problems associated with the intestinal system

  • Symptoms of toxic bowel, where they come from

  • The most important substance for intestinal health

  • What vitamins and minerals the intestine need for good health

  • What supplements to take for building and cleansing the colon

The basic function of the Intestinal system

The intestinal system consist of the lower bowel - also know as the colon or large intestine - and the rectum. The system is responsible for the elimination of waste products and the re-absorption of water.

Undigested food in liquid form flows from the small intestine into the large intestine, where water content is absorbed back into the body. The remaining semisolid waste is mostly fibre, water and bacteria. The action of muscular contraction that moves waste material through the intestine is know as peristalsis.

Small Intestine: The small intestine is usually considered a part of the digestive system, since almost all nutrients are processed and absorbed by the time a meal reaches the large intestine.

Ileocecal Valve: The ileocecal valve is a muscle that opens to allow food to pass to the large intestine and then closes to prevent any from traveling back in the wrong direction. With different bacteria present in these area, this valves keeps them in the right place.

Appendix: Often thought as a useless organ, in fact it "is a lymph tissue that guards against infection. When it is weakened, it may become infected, swell or burst, endangering life. The cause of appendicitis relates to blockageand what can we guess is the most commonly found source of the blockage? FECES!!!

Large Intestine: It totals about 5 feet long, approximate 2-3 inches in diameter, and is divided into 3 parts:

  • Ascending from the end of the small intestine near the appendix, up the abdominal cavity on the right side.

  • Transverse crossing just under the ribs in front of the stomach.

  • Descending down the left side to the rectum. The Sigmoid is the last part of the descending.

The large intestine is aided by the presence and pressure of undigested fibre. This compacting action tends to cleanse the inner walls of the intestine, and during this squeezing, water is withdrawn, with a few ounces left to help prevent constipation.

Rectum: refers to the last 5 inches of the colon, ending with the anus, a powerful muscle which controls evacuation.

It normally takes about 18 to 24 hours from the time food goes into the mouth until it leaves the body.

Breakfast to Breakfast, Lunch to Lunch, Dinner to Dinner

3 meals today, ideally 3 bowel movements tomorrow (does not have to be around meal time, food often takes different length of times to digest - so you might get 2 in the morning and 1 at night for example)

What is our body temperature? 98.6 ºF, 37.5 ºC

Imagine putting the leftovers of 3 meals (having 1 bowel movement per day) in a garbage bag, on your porch, on a hot summer day when it is about 100 ºF.. What happens? It putrefies, it smells, it rots, it grows bacteria ... aka toxins.

This is  another reason why people feel gassy, bloated, burning, tunnel elimination (pencil-like), constipated, diarrhea, pain, camping, etc.

Common Intestinal Problems

  • Constipation/diarrhea
  • Hemorrhoids
  • Colitis
  • Crohn's disease
  • Irritable bowel syndrome

All body conditions and problems are directly affected by what is consumed and how we eliminate...

Symptoms of a toxic bowel may includes:

  • Indigestion
  • Allergies
  • Headaches
  • Acne
  • Foul odors
  • Depression
  • Hyperactivity or nervousness
  • Constant fatigue
  • Weight gain

Where toxins come from

  • The consumption of refined, processed and low fibre foods.
  • Polluted air and water
  • Cigarette smoke and alcohol
  • Medication, food additives and household chemical

The colon is one of the 7 channels the body used to eliminate toxins.
The colon eliminates toxins processed by the liver.

The most important substance for intestinal system health is fibre. A second import nutrient is water. Together, fibre and water maintain muscle tone, dilute toxic wastes, bind irritants, and bring oxygen to the tissues, maintaining the correct balance of intestinal flora. Regularity and stool bulk are essential to good intestinal health.

Vitamins that are important for intestinal health

  • Folacin
  • Vitamin C and E
  • Beta carotene

Minerals that are important for intestinal health

  • Calcium
  • Magnesium
  • Zinc

All these vitamins and minerals are needed in the diet for proper intestinal function. Also a flora of micro-organisms is needed for colon function.

Intestinal tissues are among the most active in our body, and are often the first to experience the effects of poor nutrition.

When food is not sufficiently broken down it can create a toxic breeding ground for parasites, mold, fungus, and intestinal worms.

It is important to cleanse the colon and then replenish with "friendly" organisms, to ensure proper function and balance in the colon. If this not done regularly, the colon harbors an environment of putrefaction and you may experience intestinal problems.

Supplements for cleansing the intestinal system

  • Bod-E-Klenz (general body cleanse formulate for weight loss)
  • Tiao He Pak (general body cleanse)
  • LBS II (colon cleanse only)
  • Para Pak (parasites cleanse)

Healthy bacteria supplements that helps prevents intestinal problems

  • Acidophilus (helps maintain a healthy colon)
  • Bifidophilus (Promotes proper digestion and elimination)

Apply what you learn here to help you overcome your intestinal problems. You now know what to take to cleanse your intestinal system and what vitamins and minerals are important for healthy intestinal health. You now can recognize the signs of toxic bowel and have an understanding of  the basic function of the intestinal system.

Wishing you success in over coming any intestinal problems you may be facing.

Healthy Regards,
Anthony Elliott

PS. It is also important to eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables organic when possible. Juicing is great option if your system is sensitive to raw fruit and veggies.
