  • Capillaries are the tiniest blood vessels. They carry blood to the areas of the body farthest from the heart.

  • Veins carry blood , now devoid of oxygen and full of carbon dioxide and other cell waste, away for cleansing the kidneys and re-oxygenation in the lungs.

  • Arterial plaque, or atherosclerosis

    • Narrowing of the arteries due to plaque, which can restrict the flow of blood to the heart, which can lead to serious consequences, including angina, heart attack or stroke
